"I have known Mr. Itaia Lausaveve as the Director of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture in the Government of Tuvalu when I served as Trade Adviser 2014-2016. I worked with Itaia on several initiatives, including exploratory work on the coconut/copra sector to export virgin coconut oil and drafting an Agricultural Marketing Project for support under the Enhanced Integrated Framework. Itaia, with his professionalism and easy-going demeanour, would be a valuable contribution to any organization that can fully utilise his skills and many years of experience."

"We attended UQGatton College together from 1991 to 1993. As Pacific Island students at the college we had cordial relationships with the local students. He was a down to earth person who got along well with all students.
Very mature and hardworking. We keep in contact with each other. The last I met him was in 2019 in his home island in Tuvalu when I visited Tuvalu for holidays. Very jovial person."
