  • Designed and executed a communication strategy for the committee. This saved the cost of Ugx 60m it would take to hire a communication firm. The strategy helped in knowing what needs the community needs and these, when met, helped in upping Uganda’s position in Ease of Doing Business Africa in 2021.
  • Conceptualized and supervised the preparation, production, and dissemination of communication products like news releases, talk show presentation notes, and online and social media content that is in line with Ease of Doing Business policy. This helped keep a clean slate in the communication of the committee’s work and public response.
  • Helped with planning and coordinating the committee’s organized 5 conferences and seminars and other communications-related activities involving external and/or internal stakeholders. I was part of the team that conceptualized the move into one building of agencies like URSB, CMA, UIA, and JLOS.
  • Ensured strategic and timely flow of information and key messages to the committee and stakeholders about the World Bank’s views about Doing business in Uganda as seen or heard in the media. This ensured consistency in the information shared hence no backlash or misinformation.

  • Mentored and supervised 8 field staff in 8 districts. I encouraged the team to timely submit reports (we received appreciative feedback from supervisors), and saved cost on training as the team was able to offer sensitization services at no cost.

  • Sensitized the Business Community about their rights and obligations concerning Business Registration and formalization.
  • Coordinated and represented URSB on various media fora for talk shows and interviews in western Uganda. The knowledge sharing created more visibility for the brand.

  • Edited radio content before it aired and this helped avoid mishaps on air hence keeping the station in the clear.
  • Worked with the marketing department to bring in more sponsors. Advising the media team on what shows fit what clients brought in more clients to work with the station.
  • Monitored and logged in all advertising. The accuracy ensures no loss on both the client and station’s side hence maintaining a reputable relationship.
  • Scheduled music and playlists to suit listeners’ tastes. Come up with monthly playlists to suit international dates.
  • Formulated the WOMEN’S MONTH playlist for a month and this attracted 2 women-led brands to sponsor various shows.
  • Handled the station’s social media pages and increased the number from 10 followers on Twitter to 300 in less than a month. The Facebook subscription and interaction during the shows increased by 40% in the second month of opening the station.
  • Took meeting minutes in all staff meetings. This needed an active listening ear and paying attention to detail which helped the team keep on track with whatever needed actioning.
  • Anchored the business news segment. Delivering concise and accurate news to the audience helped hold the news program together and maintained its continuity.
