My name is Gemechu Beri. I am an Associate Researcher with over 6 years and 7 months of research experience in Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation in the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I obtained a first-class honors Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Development Economics from the University of Jimma, Ethiopia. I am an accomplished professional with a background in economics and over five years of experience in the research institute. My expertise lies in development economics, Research, report writing, M&E operations, preparing strategic plans, follow-up implementation, planning, monitoring, and evaluation. Throughout my career at EIAR, I have demonstrated a keen ability to drive organizational growth and optimize operational efficiency. I have successfully managed budget utilization and controlled unnecessary expenses. In addition, I focused on Impact Evaluations of programs, policies, and technologies that aim at reducing poverty and food insecurity to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). In the recent past, I have also focused on climate change impact and resilience to climate-related risks and shocks. My research in this area includes technical efficiency of maize production, determinants of livelihood diversification strategies against extreme and unexpected climatic shocks as well as farmers' perception towards improved teff variety, factors that affect row planting technology. As a Planning, monitoring, and evaluation professional, I have spearheaded initiatives to drive organizational transformation and facilitate smooth transitions. I have a proven track record of implementing project management strategies that enhance employee engagement and drive positive outcomes. Throughout my studies, I gained a solid foundation in economic theory and analysis, which has been instrumental in my research work. In addition to my academic qualifications, I have also pursued various short-term training and work-related training programs to further enhance my skills. These certifications have provided me with additional knowledge and expertise in areas relevant to my research, allowing me to approach the complex issue of export performance with a comprehensive perspective. I am passionate about leveraging my skills and experience to drive business success. I thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
