About

I am a Biologist specializing in Environmental Management. Over the past five years (2018-2022), I have been deeply involved in marine conservation efforts at a Biodiversity Conservation NGO on Brava Island. My work has focused on marine conservation, particularly in relation to sharks, turtles, and seabirds. Additionally, I have been actively engaged with fishing communities, working to raise awareness and promote the conservation and preservation of marine life, while also striving to enhance the quality of life for local fishermen and fisherwomen. Today, I am a PhD student in Biology at the University of the Azores, Portugal. My doctoral research is centered on the development of a socio-ecological model for the conservation of protected areas in Cape Verde.
