Mr Garad Abdullahi has Master degree in Environmental Science from Stamford University Bangladesh in Dhaka. Mr. Garad is environment science specialist. He worked with different local and international organizations and public institutions as water and sanitation officer, Environmental Health and safety officer, Environmental Impact Assessment officer. Currently he is the head section of the marine ecosystem at the Ministry of the Environment and Climate change as well as the liaison officer whose duty is to communicate the Ministry of Environment and Climate change to the other public line ministries of the federal government of Somalia. Mr. Garad is an expert in the field of environment and climate change, water and sanitation, marine and coastal conservation, marine ecosystem. He has analytical skills and diplomatic skills, quick adaptation to new work environment and team dynamics, communication and inter-personnel skills, ability to deliver timely results under tight deadlines and pressures through very professionalism manner. He is a good team player in his place of work and has the ability to work with teams in a multicultural background. He has also proven ability to work in insecure and conflict environments and under stress. As part of his efforts, Mr. Garad has been taking part in the organization of numerous workshops and trainings conducted by the ministry of the environment and climate change of Somalia across the country on topics such as climate change adaptation and mitigation, Blue economy, sustainable development, and gender-inclusive approaches to conservation. He has been a strong advocate for the protection of natural resources, particularly marine ecosystems and forests, in Somalia. Mr. Garad is a true inspiration to the national marine conservation community and is an excellent example of what one person can do to make a positive impact on the Somalia natural resource conservation.
