About

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and my postgraduate specialisation is in Expressive Psychotherapy integrated with Dance Movement Therapy. The approach I use in my work integrates the main psychodynamic developmental theories to the Laban-Kestenberg body method, studies on art and creativity, and also draws on the Jungian method of active imagination in authentic movement practice. My professional experiences are in the field of pathological addictions and psychiatry, ethno-psychology, gerontology, as well as working with personality and eating disorders in developmental and mature age. I am also experienced in creating psycho-socio-health projects in various fields. In private clinical practice, the creation of a safe space, in which it is possible to listen not only to words but also to what comes from the non-verbal, whether it is a gesture, a mark on a paper, a breath, a shape or a color, fosters a deeper contact with oneself, the re-discovery of one's potential, and the emergence of authentic emotions coming from the body. It is a work of exploration and discovery that, passing through body, image and word, leads toward a mature integration of the self. From 2017 to 2020 I collaborated with Vivere Verde Onlus as ethno-psychologist within the SIPROIMI (former SPRAR) Ancona, province of asylum project. [Here a presentation of the work at the 2018 "Migrant Imaginaries" conference, Jesi https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1yTZRqVlZqkNapOqnXHFs_543T_wC9jic/edit#slide=id.p1 ] From 2010 to the present, I have had the opportunity to work as a research associate for the Center for Socioeconomic Research and Care Models for the Elderly (IRCCS-INRCA) in Ancona in the following projects: EWL (Extending Working Life), GestIncAge (study on incontinence), Careers@Work ( strategies for reconciling paid work and care for elderly family members), AgeWell (technology and transition to retirement) ,HERO (training for migrants on elderly care). I developed and co-ordinated the Erasmus+ DanceCARE project (Dance Movement Therapy and Conscious Movement as innovative tools in emotional education and support for long-term caregivers).
