Felix Mutua is a seasoned development professional with diverse programme management, organizational development and strategic planning experience; both as senior manager and independent consultant. For most of his development career spanning over 23 years now, Felix has been involved in the design and execution of multi-sectoral programs with 5 different development agencies mostly in Kenya but also in Uganda and Tanzania; with over 12 years spent in senior management. His most recent role entailed managing a diverse regional Civil Society Programme Portfolio at Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) East Africa. He also previously served as Programmes and Grant Making Manager at Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF), Uganda Programme Officer at Trocaire, Director of Programmes and Acting Secretary General at Kenya Red Cross and Informal Sector Programme Coordinator at Undugu Society. Felix has a sound track record in organizational capacity strengthening of grantee partners ; leading and coaching programme teams; managing grants and budgets; programme design and resource mobilization ; training diverse civil society leaders in leadership, integrity and governance, and leading strategic planning processes. He possesses strong analytical, conceptual, problem solving and diversity management skills. He enjoys a collaborative management style, while also able to work well on his own. For the last 9 years, Felix has served an independent programme management, strategic planning and organizational capacity development consultant in Kenya and Eastern Africa region. He has successfully conducted varied assignments for diverse clients including, among others: the EAC Secretariat, Trocaire, Poverty Eradication Network, Forestry Society of Kenya through the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), IGAD, Arid Lands Information Network, Finn Church Aid, Dan Church Aid, several Government of Kenya ministries and Kenya School of Government (Baringo Campus). Felix is currently actively looking out for consultancy opportunities in afore-mentioned areas of competency. He is open to collaboration with other consultants/specialists to deliver on diverse consultancy assignments around programme cycle management, M&E, strategic planning and leadership development/governance.
