Bayoán is a Puerto Rican-Mexican film composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, folklorist, arranger, orchestrator, session musician, concert composer, and music educator.
Has composed and performed music scores for films, shorts, documentaries and TV shows, such as “In The Summers” (2024), “You Were My First Boyfriend” (HBO Max/2023), “Menudo: Forever Young” (HBO Max/2022), “La última gira” (2021), “El cuartito” (2021), “Landfall” (2020), “Councilwoman” (2019), "After María: The Two Shores" (2018), “¿Quién eres tú?” (2018), “Mona: Tesoro del Caribe” (2017), “Cuentas pendientes” (2016), "15 Lighthouses of Puerto Rico" (2015), “Bosque sin gritos” (2014), “Camino a Europa” (2013), “I Am a Director” (2012), “Il Viaggio” (2011), “204” (2010), “Memoria de los peces” (2009), “Torpeza del futuro” (2008) and “Shut Up and Do It!” (2007).
Bayoán received the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album with singer-songwriter iLe (Ileana Cabra/PG-13 from Calle 13), and was nominated at the 2005 Latin Grammy Awards for Best Folkloric Album with Tepeu, a Latin-American music group founded in 1973 in México City by his father.
Has recorded acoustic guitar (nylon), zampoña (Andean panflute), charango, ronroco, cuatro venezolano, electric requinto and bombo legüero (Andean drum) with renowned artists such as Eduardo Cabra (Visitante from Calle 13 / Trending Tropics / Cabra), Jorge Drexler, Kany García, Chambao, Gustavo Cordera, Cuarteto de Nos, Daymé Aracena, Santiago Cruz, Silvina Moreno, Los Caligari, Rodrigo Cuevas, Vicente García, Diana García, Diana Fuentes and Sie7e.
