"Emma Daniels has been our music director since 2022. We have so enjoyed working with her as our leader. Emma has a unique personal style and is able to draw out the highest musicianship our amateur singers can muster without being heavy handed or confrontational. She is organized and carefully prepares for every rehearsal, covering all the challenging sections of each piece we perform long in advance of the performance. Each week we receive an outline of rehearsal plans many days in advance. All of Emma’s markings of the music are uploaded to an easily accessible internet cloud folder so we don’t waste valuable rehearsal time on markings. That allows time for actual singing—which is why we joined the choir in the first place! In short—when we perform, we’re the best prepared we’ve ever been, due to Emma’s hard work but also because she motivates us to practice and love the music.
