  •  Strategic planning through the identification and building of strategic partnerships with national and local partners while also contributing to national and inter-agency strategies, especially on matters Gender-Based Violence and conflict resolution. Currently, I have managed to partner with FIDA-Kenya on legal assistance, TINADA on Mental health, CIHEB on HTS service delivery and successfully brought on board the state actors to support our programs
  •  Overseeing program interventions including the establishment and delivery of focused GBV response services
  •  Coordination and building the capacities of program staff and partners in relevant technical areas to deliver services and lead interventions and ensure integration of GBV concerns into various services and broader humanitarian response
  •  Overseeing prevention and awareness raising including behaviour change strategies with an aim of reducing the occurrence of SGBV cases
  •  Financial management including work plan development, implementation budget, procuring supplies required for program activities, compliance with donor relations and coordinating the preparation of the monthly and annual operating budget for C-FAGHS.

  •  Facilitating and training AGYWs on the USAID-Empowered Girl curriculum including peace and conflict resolution
  •  Screening and enrollment of out-of-school vulnerable girls into the empowered girl project saw me screen 78 AGYWs in Kajulu Ward, having worked closely with Community Health Workers and Child Protection Volunteers to identify the neediest AGYWs.
  •  Assessing and evaluating potential risks related to the needs of the AGYWs. So far, I have assessed the needs and vulnerability of 114 out-of-school AGYWs across the Kisumu East sub-county
  •  Developing a case plan for each Empowered Girl beneficiary
  •  Linking and referring the out of AGYWs to the existing local services and resources and the in-school orphans and vulnerable girls to the USAID DREAMS program.
  •  Following up on the case management process
  •  Evaluating the case management results
  •  I have also led coordinated assessments for the Empowered Youth Trainer of Trainers in Muhoroni and Nyakach sub-counties while educating youth groups on entrepreneurship, business incubation ideas, and National Identity Card Campaigns.

  •  Implementing Gender, socio-economic empowerment, Female Genital Mutilation, and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence prevention projects and programs.
  •  Collection, compilation, and analysis of all gender-disaggregated data in the County and monitoring of the prevalence of Gender-Based Violence cases to provide prevention mechanisms.
  •  Training and providing guidelines on the establishment of Gender Desks and integration of GBVRCs within the level 4 county hospitals to help strengthen the gender mainstreaming agenda, for example, I coordinated the training of key Kisumu County stakeholders in the Department of Health on the GBVRC guidelines as recommended by the State Department for Gender.
  •  Participated in the policy development of county-related initiatives aimed at preventing sexual gender-based violence, e.g., helped draft the Kisumu County Gender Mainstreaming Policy 2020.
  •  Served as a rapporteur for the Kisumu County Gender Sector Working Group, a multi-sectoral team of government and non-governmental organizations working on gender mainstreaming and the empowerment agenda within the county.
  •  Developing Terms of Reference and implementation matrix for the working relationship between the State Department, other government bodies, and NGOs that define the operation of the Gender Sector Working Group in Kisumu County in and around the four thematic areas including Women in Peacebuilding and conflict resolution
  •  Sensitization of stakeholders including local security leaders and community members on gender-related issues including Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Gender-Based Violence while seeking to address these pertinent issues. For instance, I managed to conduct sensitization activities in Nyando, Muhoroni, and Nyakach sub-counties on the rise of teenage pregnancies and Sexual Gender-Based Violence
  •  Conflict resolution and mediation for spouses and families to help curb the rise in GBV cases.
  •  Research on various gender issues including policy gaps, reviews, and emerging gender issues
  •  Conducting gender audits in government institutions and sagas and recommending appropriate mainstreaming mechanisms. I effectively carried out Gender mainstreaming training for Lake Victoria South Water Works twice and The Kenya Power and Lighting Company and recommended relevant mainstreaming approaches. Lake Victoria South Water Works has since drafted a comprehensive Workplace Policy on sexual harassment, established a Gender Unit, and employed a Gender officer.
