Experience

I'm 65. I haven't worked for the last five years. I have no contacts because I'm looking for a job in a field I've never worked in before. I have over... forty years' work history that has left me with numerous desirable soft skills, but I'm still unemployed. Before anyone jumps on the "You've been unemployed for five years" train, I earned my BS in 2022 and my MA in 2024. I was in school from the time I lost my job during COVID until I graduated in December. I finished my Master's with a 4.0 GPA (which should tell any employer what they need to know about my work ethic). I'm also a retired military veteran. I'm at my wits' end. I get it - I'm looking for a job at an age that all of my high school classmates are retiring, but I'm not ready to retire and I have student loans to pay. The only thing worse than not being able to get a job is the depression from not being able to get a job.  more
