Dragana Vasilski is a full-time Professor and former Dean at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University Union Nikola Tesla, in Belgrade, Serbia. Her work includes scientific publications and other research results of scientific value, architectural design, teaching experience and pedagogical training, the ability to produce teaching materials, and applying new methodologies and investigations within the interdisciplinary approach. Teaching skills as demonstrated in a lecture, as well as participation in education, such as mentoring graduate and master's theses, as well as mentoring doctoral dissertations (three). She also organises workshops for students at international scientific conferences or events.
Current fields of interest: interdisciplinary intersections between architecture and philosophy, architectural theory and history, arts and sciences, architectural design process, design studies, and culture studies. A particular field of her interest within topics related to contemporary architecture is Minimalism in architecture, as in architecture that changes people's lives (http://miadraganavasilski.wordpress.com). Based on a multidisciplinary approach in the field of architecture theory, the establishment of a relationship between architecture on the one hand and philosophy on the other hand. She uses semiotics as a research method to define, understand, and explain this contemporary idea in architecture. Since 2018, she has been a member of the Executive Board of the International Association for Semiotics of Space and Time (IASSp+T), where she holds the position of Secretary General (https://www.ias-st.com). She organised a panel discussion at the World Congress of Semiotics (held in Buenos Aires in 2019 and in Warsaw in 2024).
Her scientific competence and success are reflected in more than 150 scientific papers and three science monographs. Scientific competence and success are reflected in scientific papers presented at international (Argentina, Spain, Greece, Romania) and national conferences, invited lectures at international conferences (Kaunas, Lithuania, 2017. Academy of Arts in Moscow, 2018., Yerevan, Armenia - a branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, 2019., University of Coimbra, Portugal, 2022.), as well as in scientific papers published in leading international and national journals. One scientific paper has been translated into French and published in Paris. Qualitative indicators of success in scientific work include a series of invited lectures at the Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation in Belgrade, 2014. He is the author of a monograph of international importance (Germany) and national importance (Serbia).
