He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Audiology from IUMS and a Ph.D. in Auditory Neuroscience from Hannover Medical School, Germany. He completed postdoctoral research jointly at the Neurotology Department of Hannover Medical School and IUMS. Dr. Mahmoudian's research interests lie in the cognitive neuroscience of auditory processing, with a particular focus on the neural mechanisms of tinnitus. He employs neuroimaging and electrophysiological techniques such as EEG, fMRI, and brain mapping to investigate functional and structural brain changes associated with tinnitus. He is also actively engaged in research on ear and hearing healthcare within the primary healthcare (PHC) system.
