"I have known Diego Flores since high school, when we competed together in debate from 2016 to 2019. Throughout those years, Diego consistently stood out as an incredibly smart, thoughtful, and dedicated competitor. They always approached debate with strong critical thinking skills, respect for others, and excellent sportsmanship. Diego was someone who could compete at a high level while still maintaining a friendly and supportive attitude toward teammates and opponents alike.
Beyond their intelligence and talent in debate, Diego has always been very reliable and someone people can count on. They bring a positive energy to any team environment and are someone who genuinely cares about helping others succeed.
Now as adults, it has been great to see Diego continue giving back to the debate community. They actively help out with the Los Angeles Urban Debate League, coaching students and mentoring young debaters. Diego’s commitment to supporting students and contributing to their community really speaks to their character and passion for education."
