"Hello! My name is Lilit Babayan from the Republic of Armenia. On April 15, 2025, within the framework of BYU Education foundation, I participated in an online session with an outstanding expert who shared his advice, ideas, insight and experience in trimming one's way to job search industry (from obtaining a proper education or training to securing a place in the competitive job-market). The name of this expert is Mr. Grant Beckwith who is a Head of School and an Advisory Board Member. The webcast of the session was made through the YouTube channel. On the right side of the screen there is a chat box where the participants ask their direct questions to the speaker(s), share their ideas or thoughts among themselves, comment or react to the statements made by the speaker or simply interact with one another. During one of those interactions, I noticed a post made by Mr. Desmond Umoh in which he raised the issue of absence or lack of job/professional experience. In response to his concern, I suggested beginning with volunteer service. I thought that in case of absence of any appropriate job opportunities for beginners (considering the fact that Mr. Umoh came from a country in Africa), it would be wise to start a volunteer service and include it in his resume under the category of Employment. Irregardless of the result of my advice or suggestion, I noticed that Mr. Umoh had an urge for beginning the creation of his education or employment history. Despite the existing challenges which can be explained by the economic, financial, geographical, political or social factors, I still wish Mr. Umoh courage, hope and perseverance in the commencement of his educational, professional and spiritual growth.
