About

Otti Oloya is a Ugandan filmmaker, accountant and media entrepreneur dedicated to telling authentic stories from Northern Uganda. He blends creative vision with financial discipline to produce culturally grounded and professionally executed film projects. His passion for storytelling began in the early 2000s, inspired by his brother Dr. Opiyo Oloya, who writes articles for Vision Group. Whenever Dr. Opiyo returned home, Otti would get a camera from him to take pictures—an experience that nurtured his interest in writing and strengthened his love for visual storytelling. Although his late uncle, David Otti one of the most respected sportsmen in Ugandan football encouraged him from childhood to pursue sports, Otti ultimately chose filmmaking as his true path. Alongside his professional background as an accountant, he built his creative career through formal training in film production at CineArt Academy and Gulu Film School where he gained the technical and artistic skills that shaped his identity as a filmmaker. Today, Otti is committed to building sustainable creative ecosystems and amplifying narratives that honor identity, community and heritage. His work reflects professionalism, cultural sensitivity and a deep dedication to preserving and elevating the stories of Northern Uganda.
