Experience

As a couples coach, strategist, and mediator for over 30-years my surface esponse would be much different than if I had more details i.e., what... country, how long have you been together, what are the expectations you both have for your lives, careers, and future). If you were a client, I would say this:You are not deciding who sacrifices. You are deciding how two careers get carried at once. Start
there, and the conversation changes. Give me the facts, not the fears
    • The offer: length, terms, and whether partner support is included.
    • Is the move required now — or within a year?
    • What have you each assumed and never asked?A career is a skill. An employer is one place. What part of your work travels — and what is tied to a location,
a licence, or a clearance? Answer in writing. Guessing is where the fear lives. Provide for me a time box, not a forever thought:Twelve months, then review. A trial is survivable. "Forever" is what breaks people. Name what needs to be
