About

As a seasoned microbiologist with a Ph.D. specializing in zoonotic bacteriology, my academic journey has been generously supported by ACE II and FWO Flanders grants, awarded for my master's and Ph.D. research at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania, and the University of Antwerp, Belgium. My research primarily explores the intricate transmission dynamics of zoonotic diseases and the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance, a subject I have extensively published on in peer-reviewed journals. Currently, I hold a faculty position as a Lecturer in Microbiology and serve as the Director of Research at St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS), Tanzania. In this dual capacity, I manage research activities, oversee grant acquisition efforts, and provide academic leadership, all while maintaining a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring the next generation of scientists. At this stage, I am seeking new opportunities in two main areas: A postdoctoral position that will allow me to expand on my research in zoonotic diseases and antimicrobial resistance. Collaboration with international NGOs to contribute to the execution, management, and leadership of projects aimed at addressing public health challenges, particularly within communities in Tanzania. I am passionate about applying my expertise to help communities overcome pressing public health issues and look forward to working on impactful, community-focused initiatives.
