👋 Hi, I'm Charles Okello—a dedicated disability-inclusive researcher, educator, and passionate advocate for climate action. With a background in Arts in Education, I bring a unique perspective to my work, focused on inclusive practices that empower and support communities, especially families impacted by disabilities. My journey as a blind researcher has shaped my approach to conducting impactful, empathy-driven qualitative research, particularly in the Wakiso district of Uganda, where I have led projects to develop disability-inclusive parenting interventions. I am committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families, and I am in the process of founding an NGO in Uganda. This initiative will focus on alleviating poverty in families affected by disabilities, ensuring no one is left behind. 💼 In addition to my research and advocacy work, I offer a range of services: - In-depth research and qualitative interviews - Emceeing and public speaking - Training for visually impaired individuals in screen readers (JAWS, NVDA) - Audio transcription - Teaching and educational content creation With recent fiber internet installation, I am excited to explore digital content creation, including podcasting and YouTube, and to build accessible online courses, starting with grant writing—a skill I am eager to pass on to others who want to drive social change. I'm here to connect with like-minded individuals, organizations, and anyone passionate about inclusivity, climate action, and sustainable impact.
