Calvince Orage is a Kenyan Climate Change Adaptation and Crop Protection Specialist with more than eight years of professional experience in sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, rural livelihoods, and food systems. His work spans research, project management, capacity building, and policy advocacy across East Africa. He holds an MSc in Climate Change and Adaptation (2023) and a BSc in Agriculture (Crop Protection) (2018) from the University of Nairobi. Over the years, he has built a strong track record in climate resilience programming, integrated pest and disease management, nematology research, and community-based agricultural interventions. Calvince has worked with major international organisations including the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), where he currently serves as a Research Fellow in Soil Health and Nematology. He has also held research positions at the University of Idaho and collaborates with CSI International Lab on soil health and nematode diagnostics. His technical strengths include data analysis (R and Excel), monitoring and evaluation (MEL), climate-smart agriculture programming, natural resource conservation, and stakeholder engagement. He has contributed to high-level scientific workshops and conferences, including the Society of Nematology, PANEMA, and other continental research networks. Calvince is also actively applying for prestigious PhD positions globally in areas such as climate resilience, forest ecology, soil microbiomes, environmental governance, climate–migration systems, and sustainable food systems. He has authored publications on nematode biodiversity and the impacts of climatic variability on potato cyst nematodes in Kenya. Fluent in English and Swahili, he is known for his analytical skills, scientific writing ability, and commitment to advancing climate resilience and food security in Africa.
