Bogdan Benigar

"For decades, Bogdan has presented himself as one of the most progressive, innovative and professional music promoters in South-East Europe. With more than 2.500 organised concerts we are talking about impressive "catalogue" of artist from all over the world. His impact on education of local and regional audiences in jazz, world, groove and roots music is immeasurable and, perhaps more importantly, continues. As in many similar cases, Bogdan's work is much better recognised and respected internationally than at his home. His decision to leave the "safety" of an institution such as Cankarjev dom after 25 years and continue his career as the Founder of the Druga Godba festival deserves everyone's respect, because the best persons never seek a place in the "safe zone", but always dedicate themselves to pushing the boundaries. I sincerely hope that responsible persons, who lead culture in Republic of Slovenia, will understand and properly value his work so far, and will accordingly give him the position he deserves in society, because Bogdan is at the peak of his strength and have knowledge to offer a lot more. I wish him to continue with the same intensity and passion."
