"I have had the privilege to get to know Ben Thollander at The University of Texas at Austin where we competed on a nationally competitive Ultimate Frisbee Team. I captained him from 2023 to 2024 and the first thing that stood out was his ability to learn and ask questions. Ben wanted to understand concepts thoroughly and to their most fundamental levels to apply and execute. If it was defensive scheme, field position, or movement pattern he always asked how to do something if he didn’t know it. He also did a great job of balancing his studies at the University as he did very well with his grade point average while maintaining a great attendance with our team which is highly demanding. We practiced about 3 hours every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Night. With away trips to many weekend tournaments around the country. His spirit was always high and he was a teammate I could always depend on to have a positive impact on the team from a morale and support standpoint."
