About

With 14 years of experience in the water industry, I am a qualified Water Resources Engineer pursuing a PhD in Hydrology and Water Resources Science at the University of Zimbabwe. I specialize in dam construction, irrigation systems, clean water supply systems, and solar-powered pumping stations. My expertise includes hydrogeology, climate action consulting, water project management, and water and sanitation systems design. I use software like AutoCAD, QGIS, EPANET, HEC-RAS, and Modflow for hydrological engineering analysis. I have experience in working with government departments, corporations, NGOs, and individuals.

Work experience
  • This placement gave an opportunity to advance my technical and personal skills and apply much of what I have leant in both Msc Water Resources Engineering and Msc Project Management. It gave me an opportunity to work with various NGOs such as UNDP, PLAN International, CAFOD, Red Cross, CARITAS Gokwe, DAN Church Aid, ECODIT, Africa Ahead and Africare. I also worked with government departments.
  • Managing field team, workshop team, and borehole drilling team.
  • Liaising with relevant government departments such as Zimbabwe Water Authority (ZINWA), District Development Fund (DDF), Ministry of Public Works, and Rural District Council.
  • Ensuring that services and products are delivered according to ISO 9001 of 2001 for quality management.
  • Ensuring that health and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Providing consultation services to individuals and institutions.
  • Projects planning, management and material procurement.
  • Hydraulic design of water systems such as pipe networks, pump houses dams, and reservoirs.
  • Designing of pressurized irrigation systems mainly overhead sprinkles, drip, and landscaping.
  • Responding to tenders, prepare bill of quantities, and compilation of documents of submission.
  •  Conduct hydrological assessments, including data collection, analysis, and modeling using software such as HEC-HMS, or MODFLOW.
  •  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and optimize stormwater management systems, flood control measures, and water supply infrastructure.
  •  Led a team of engineers in conducting water quality assessments and developing strategies to mitigate pollution and protect aquatic ecosystems.
  •  Utilized GIS software to analyze spatial data for watershed management and flood risk mapping.
