Ann Ogden Gaffney

"I met Ann while i was working for a pancreatic cancer organization and she was running the nonprofit Cook for You Life. Not only was she involved with Columbia University, trying to measure the effects of eating healthy and cancer outcomes, but she volunteered to work in underserved communities by teaching them how to cook healthier on a budget. This was in addition to running the day to day operations of a nonprofit ( thats alot!).
My org was just starting. As I learned more about treatments and their side effects on pancreatic cancer patients, I pitched a story for our website on how to eat properly after Whipple surgery. Ann graciously offered to write the article ( that hS been reprinted on the website a few times, over the years).
To sum it up, Ann is smart and determined. She is passionate and a hard worker. But mostly, I love her for the way her face gets so animated when she discusses anything remotely connected to her career.I am always surprised at just how big her heart is. And, I am humbled to be able to count her as a friend of mine.
