Ana M. Vernia-Carrasco, PhD, is a professor at the Jaume I University (Castellón, Spain). Her research interests include education, pedagogy, and quality of life through music. She is the coordinator of the Q-HEART research group and director of the "L'Alcora" Chair of Musical Research and Quality of Life. She is also president of the Spanish Society for Music Education (SEM-EE) and a member of the board of ISME (International Society for Music Education). She holds an Honorary Visiting Researcher Appointment at the University of Surrey (UK). She is the coordinator of UNESCO's "Learning Cities" program in the municipality of L'Alcora. She has a scholarship from the Valencian Academy of Language for a project on the transcription of popular repertoire and is the coordinator of the EMA (Music Education for Adults) project supported by the Department of Education of the Generalitat Valenciana. She is also the director of the "Music for Life" project. Director of the MEPA Project, for educational inclusion through music for adults) and Director of the MUSIUCALL Project (Music for quality of life at all ages) and MUSAS, which is being developed at the Magdalena Hospital (Castellón).
