Dr Alberto Muñoz is an Electronic Systems Engineer (Tec de Monterrey), MSc Computing (INRIA-France), PhD (INRIA-France), PostDoc in Industrial Robotics (Oxford, UK), Sabbatical in Cognitive Vision (UT Wien, Austria). He founded 14 companies in Mexico and the USA. As a researcher, he has worked at the U. of Pisa, U. of Tokyo, the U. of Karlsruhe, Stanford and the UMass at Lowell. For the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and the Faculty of Sciences of the UNAM, he was a professor at the UADY, where he participated in the creation of the bachelor's degree in Comp. Eng. and the MSc in Mathematical Sciences. He has directed over 40 Bachelor's, 15 Master's and 6 PhD theses. He has published over 150 articles in national and international magazines, books and conferences. He has given more than 500 lectures on disseminating science and technological innovation. In 2008, he founded the The Robotics Institute of Yucatán in Mérida. More than 500 children and young people attend specific courses annually to develop their early scientific and technological skills. He has patents in energy, logistics, online health ("e-health"), sustainability, and education. He participated in the first-generation Stanford Go-to-Market program in Mexico. He was elected President of Southeast and VP of National Innovation of CANIETI. He writes a regular column at El Financiero in MX and is a Professor at Tec de Monterrey.
