"I am writing to recommend Joshua Apamaku for his exceptional work and dedication in empowering youth in the field of green jobs and climate leadership.
I had the pleasure of working with Joshua under the Green Africa Youth Organisation (GAYO) Uganda initiative on various projects related to green jobs and youth climate leaders. Throughout our collaboration, Joshua consistently demonstrated a passion for empowering young people and providing them with the tools and resources needed to build their careers in the green sector.
Joshua's leadership has been instrumental in creating a positive and supportive environment for youth in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. He has organized numerous workshops, trainings, and mentorship programs, providing valuable opportunities for young people to develop their skills and knowledge in green jobs.
During UNFCCC COP28, Joshua played a pivotal role in organizing youth position papers at the country and regional levels. His dedication to amplifying youth voices in climate discussions culminated in a successful side event at the Uganda Pavilion in Dubai, titled "Towards a Youthful Community of Practice in Uganda; Capacity Building for Climate Resilient Development." This event showcased Joshua's commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among young climate leaders.

"I know this young boy as an industrious guy who works tirelessly on his own as a wildlife reseacher and biologist after graduating with a bachelors in Wildlife Health and Management from Makerere University . He has travelled the world over for seminars on environmental issues representing Uganda in United Nations sponsored talks in U.K., Canada, USA, Morocco, UAE, South Africa Egypt, Kenya and Rwanda (more than 8 times). He has held numerous such seminars in Uganda as well. As a young explorer, he writes documentaries for National Geographic. He has been admitted at Oxford University for his Masters and PhD programme in environmental related course with effect from Fall 2024.
