"Professor Ahna Skop was one of my most memorable professors and mentors during my time at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Although many years have passed since I was her student, I still remember the genuine passion, energy, and dedication she brought to both science and teaching.

What made Professor Skop truly exceptional was not only her brilliance as a geneticist and researcher, but also her remarkable ability to inspire and mentor her students. She encouraged curiosity, independent thinking, and confidence, and made students feel that their ideas and potential genuinely mattered.

It has been wonderful to see her continue to make such meaningful contributions to genetics and cell biology while remaining deeply committed to education, mentorship, and making science accessible to others.
