Our client, St. Marcel Academy, based in Lubumbashi DRC, seeks to hire a Head of Elementary School. He/ she will take charge of the successful completion of the candidacy phase of the PYP and the overall performance for the school, development and implementation of Teaching and Learning in the Primary School. He/she will be reporting to the Management/Owners.
Ways you will contribute
• Lead the school community in promoting positive attitudes to learning &growth mindset amongst pupils and staff.
• Provide leadership in the implementation of the PYP programme throughout the school.
• Ensure teaching and learning promotes international mindedness.
• Oversee implementation of the annual budget and orders.
• Liaise closely with the other stake holders to encourage sharing of good practice and consistent implementation of the curriculum school wide.
• Ensure that there is an appropriate and varied programme of extra-curricular activities for primary students, plan and organise an informative assembly programme that supports and promotes student learning.
• Ensure that the Primary School is a healthy and safe place.
• Building relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
• Lead, supervise and support the professional staff, teaching assistants and library staff in the primary school.
• Effectively communicate the philosophy, goals and practices of the Primary School to the community through regular newsletters, workshops and curriculum documentation.
• Monitor the PYP Action Plan and should be experienced in implementing the PYP.
Who you are
•Hold an advanced degree, Masters in Education etc.
• Have previous experience in a leadership position within a Primary/Elementary School or Division.
• Have two (2) years previous successful experience with International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
