What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You will be responsible for facility design and layouts, design of mechanical services (compressed air, steam, water, HVAC), mechanical structures design, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing). You will manage large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects, perform AutoCAD 2D drafting, and utilise Microsoft 365 and MS Projects proficiently. Your role will involve project management, costing and proposal documents, and potentially designing factories or serving as a factory engineer. You’ll find satisfaction in contributing to innovative solutions that are cost-effective to build and operate, ensuring delivery on project objectives every time.

What you’ll need

You will need a BSc/BEng in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience. Expertise in facility design, mechanical services, MEP, and large-scale project management is essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting, Microsoft 365, and MS Projects is required. Experience within the FMCG sector, designing factories or as a factory engineer, fire and building experience, and process engineering will be beneficial. You must be a good problem solver, numerate, logical thinker, and possess excellent organisational skills. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. A South African ID or valid work permit, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel are additional requirements.
