- The research assistant will investigate tunnel–soil–structure interaction through advanced geomechanical modeling of complex geotechnical and structural systems. Responsibilities will include performing numerical analyses; validating, analyzing, and interpreting the results; and preparing figures and technical content for publication in high-impact journals.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering

- Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in the numerical modeling of tunnels using the finite element software MIDAS GTS NX.

Desirable Qualifications 
- Be enrolled as a graduate student in the Civil Engineering Program at the University of Hawai?i at Manoa and have passed the qualifying examination.
