Minimum Requirements

Grade 12
1 years’ experience in a Civil workshop environment is essential.
Code EB drivers’ license and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 Test is essential
Trained to check fire extinguishers as well as knowledge in basic civil trades and scaffolding is essential

Primary Duties

Maintain stock levels of material and stock by proper record keeping. Stock taking and general housekeeping in the Civil stores.
Issuing and receiving of tools, materials and equipment to artisans as and when requested. Check portable electrical tools, hand tools and fire extinguishers. Collecting spares and equipment from suppliers
Assist Carpenters with the repairing and replacing of door locks, plaguing of swollen doors, repairing of cupboard locks, fixing of notice boards and broken window panes.
Assist Bricklayers to do patchwork on plastering, minor brickwork, mixing of concrete and mortar and plastering of brick walls.
Assist Painters to carry out patchwork on ceilings, walls, doors and window frames, varnishing of cupboards and office furniture as well as windows
Assist Plumbers with minor repairs on taps and toilets. Sealing of leaking roofs as well as gutters and downpipes. Minor repair on blocked drains including galleys, basins and sinks
Administrative tasks such as completing of vehicle log book, completion of job cards, time sheets etc. Perform daily vehicle checks.
General housekeeping
