Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping and Data Entry:


Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by entering data into accounting systems.
Process invoices, receipts, and payments efficiently.
Ensure all accounting data is up to date and correctly filed.


Accounts Payable and Receivable:


Assist in preparing and processing invoices for clients and vendors.
Follow up on outstanding payments and maintain accounts receivable records.
Verify and reconcile supplier statements with company records.
Process payments to vendors, ensuring timely disbursement.


Bank Reconciliation:


Assist in reconciling bank statements with company accounts.
Identify discrepancies and report them to the Accountant.
Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and match bank records.


Payroll Assistance:


Help prepare payroll data for employee salary payments.
Maintain records of deductions, benefits, and allowances.
Ensure compliance with tax deductions and statutory payments.


Financial Reporting & Documentation:


Assist in preparing financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Maintain proper filing of financial documents and reports for auditing purposes.
Assist in compiling data for budget preparation and financial forecasts.


Tax and Compliance:


Assist in processing tax filings such as VAT, PAYE, and other statutory deductions.
Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and company policies.
Maintain records for auditing and tax compliance purposes.


Qualifications and Skills

Education:


A minimum of an OND (Ordinary National Diploma) or HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.


Experience:


1-3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.


Skills and Competencies:


Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
Good knowledge of basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
