To assist Artisan with servicing, maintenance and overhaul of equipment and machinery.

Minimum Requirements    

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 10/Standard 8 Technical (Essential/Minimum)
AET Level 4 (Essential/Minimum)
Skills Program: AA Fitting inc Machinery (Essential/Minimum or)
Skills Program: AA Diesel Mechanic (Essential/Minimum or)
Skills Program: AA Plater Welder (Essential/Minimum or)
Skills Program: AA Electrical (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE: 

 1 year Applicable technical support and assistance as Helper/Operator in a heavy industry environment (Essential/Minimum) Operational

REQUIREMENTS: 

Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities    

Equipment Operations and Control    
First level inspection and observing all mechanical and electrical equipment to identify deviations
All mechanical and electrical equipment are continuously maintained to repair identified deviations in time to prevent breakdowns, damaged equipment, injuries and production delays
Conduct basic fault finding
Basic analytical ability to interpret information to reach decisions



Maintenance, Process and Equipment Efficiency    

Assist artisans in the maintenance of primary and secondary equipment (perform partly independent to the level of competence)
All production equipment is maintained reactively and on a scheduled basis to ensure equipment availability and reliability
Breakdowns are attended to immediately to restore availability and reported to the foreman
Specified components and spares are reconditioned for installation
Repaired equipment is tested for functionality before handing over

Safe and Healthy Work Environment    

Adhere to all health and safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
Address all unsafe practices and potential hazardous situations, rectify and report to superior
Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC)/technical requirements
Responsible to wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
