Job Description:


This is a team supervisory role and will be responsible for supervising and developing the team of Patrolpersons including Senior Patrolpersons, within an Anglo American Platinum Operation to ensure that they perform their duties and that employees and assets are protected within the law. Investigation support and emergency protection duties will be part of the activities of this role.


Responsibilities:


Investigate crime and the transgression of standards and procedures
Patrol and inspect all company property within delegated area of responsibility
Ensure that all CIA procedures are understood and drills attended
Continuously liaise with the Supervisor on security activities
Ensure that safety and legal standards are adhered to in performing protection duties
Ensure that operating standards and procedures are up to date and understood by the team
Monitor and advise on the settings of monitoring equipment to optimize performance
Monitor the process regularly to ensure conformance to and understanding of security standards
Assists in security screening of employees and recruits
Assist during emergencies and injuries to employees
Control issuing and receiving of all security equipment to team
Issue, receive and register all equipment in the department including firearms and specialist security equipment
Ensure that materials, resources and equipment are available and in working order for the teams requirements before shifts
Conducts inventory and stock checks at different security points on a monthly basis
Ensure that the protection initiatives facilitates the need of the Operation
Compile accurate security reports including incident and investigation reports
Maintain applicable Safety, Regulations, Legislation, Codes of practice and standards appropriate to systems
Complete applicable safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for area
Conduct and/or participate in required meetings
Support the protection of assets in high-risk situations such as during Industrial action and emergencies
Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customers
Complete regular audits and observations required in the Unit
Effective liaison with Protection Services specialists and SAP
This role is at a C1 level reporting to Protection Services Officer.


Qualifications:

You will need the following:


Grade 12
Registered with PSIRA Grade B
Applicable Dog Handler Unit Standard qualifications
Applicable firearm Unit Standard qualifications
Armed response qualification
Tactical Unit Standard Qualification
Valid driving license code 08/10/14
Valid public permit for code 10 &14  


Experience


Minimum 4 years experience in Security or equivalent environment
2 years experience in supervisory position.
