Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership:


Financial Planning & Analysis:
Develop and execute the financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning to support the company's growth and operational needs.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Ensure financial reports and statements comply with IFRS GAAP, local regulations, and statutory requirements in Kenya.
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including those related to banking and taxation, to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.
Capital Management
Oversee capital structure, manage cash flow, and maintain banking relationships to ensure optimum working capital and liquidity.
Operational Oversight:
Cross-functional Leadership: Supervise and coordinate activities across Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Administrative Services, Legal, and associated support functions.
Process Optimization: Implement and refine policies, systems, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and financial integrity.
Vendor and Contract Management: Oversee negotiations and management of service providers, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company standards.


Qualifications & Experience


BA in Finance or Accounting
A Master's degree (MBA) and/or professional certification (CPA) is highly desirable.


Professional Experience:


Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within a mid-sized organization or within the media/digital content industry.


Technical Competencies:


Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, IFRS GAAP compliance, and strategic oversight of complex organizational functions..
Hands-on experience in banking, taxation, and company valuation applications in investment or lending contexts.
Excellent command over financial systems, ERP implementations, and IT infrastructure management.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills:
Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and risk assessment tools. Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership, board members, and cross-functional teams.
A proven track record of managing change and driving performance improvements in dynamic environments.
