Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating laser cutting, engraving, and etching machines to produce high-quality products and components. Your work will involve setting up the laser equipment, reading blueprints, ensuring precision, and performing regular maintenance to optimize machine performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Laser Machine Operation:


Operate and monitor laser cutting, engraving, or etching machines to manufacture components or products according to customer specifications.
Set up machines by loading materials, adjusting settings such as laser power, speed, and focus, and ensuring the proper alignment of materials.
Select appropriate laser cutting or engraving programs based on the design specifications.


Quality Control:


Inspect completed workpieces for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and adherence to design specifications.
Conduct regular checks during production runs to ensure consistency and quality.
Adjust machine settings and parameters as needed to meet desired product specifications.


Maintenance & Troubleshooting:


Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment, including cleaning and replacing parts (e.g., lenses, nozzles, filters) to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine malfunctions, quality problems, or material defects.
Report major issues or machine breakdowns to the maintenance team.


Safety and Compliance:


Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of materials and chemicals used in the laser cutting or engraving processes.
Wear and maintain the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety goggles and gloves.


Documentation and Reporting:


Maintain accurate records of production output, materials used, and any machine settings or changes made.
Provide production reports to supervisors, including any deviations from planned production schedules or quality standards.


Collaboration:


Work closely with other operators, production staff, and supervisors to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
Communicate effectively with team members regarding machine performance, material issues, or production changes.


Required Qualifications:

Education:


High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional technical training or certification in laser operation, CNC machining, or manufacturing processes is preferred.


Experience:


Previous experience operating laser cutting, engraving, or etching machines is preferred.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software or machine control systems is a plus.


Skills:


Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
Proficiency in adjusting and troubleshooting laser equipment.
Basic math skills and the ability to perform measurements and calculations.


Physical Requirements:


Ability to lift and move materials up to [specific weight] pounds.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, standing for extended periods and operating machines for long hours.
Manual dexterity for handling small components and operating machinery.


Preferred Qualifications:


Certification in laser operation or related fields.
Experience with specific types of laser systems (e.g., CO2, fiber lasers).
Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in a manufacturing environment.


Working Conditions:


Full-time position, with potential for overtime.
Work in a production environment with exposure to laser equipment, noise, and industrial machinery.
