The Phlebotomist will be based in Kampala, Uganda and will support the Technical Team in onsite and offsite sample collections services

Draws blood and collects non-blood specimens from patients/ clients at various locations, using the correct and sterile equipment in a manner that will yield the best results.
Keeps records of specimens collected and ensures that all patient details and clinical information is accurately recorded
Monitors stock levels of all collection materials, including venesection bleeding bags, and orders additional stock to always ensure the availability of required materials
Assists pathologists with special procedures (e.g., bone marrows, fine needle aspirates, sweat tests, pap smears, etc.) when required and in compliance with relevant working instructions and standard operating procedures.
Reports incidents, logs customer complaints and problem solution, reads documents and actions tasks on the laboratory information management system in compliance with relevant organisational policy.
Liaising with Laboratory quality officers and managers in ensuring all documents are updated.
Participates in Internal Audits and ensures effective and immediate action is taken to resolve any issues identified
Perform and report trend analysis on internal and external audit findings to identify areas for improvement and to generate a trend analysis report for management review.
Regularly check and maintain phlebotomy equipment, ensuring proper sterilisation and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Build rapport with patients, explaining procedures, addresses concerns, and ensuring a positive experience during sample collection.
