Ultrahire is recruiting a highly skilled Construction Manager on behalf of a reputable real estate and development company based in Wuse II, Abuja. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in construction, architecture, or quantity surveying, with a proven track record of managing large-scale building projects from start to finish.

What You'll Do:


Manage multiple commercial/residential construction projects
Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
Lead teams, resolve on-site challenges, and keep projects on schedule


Other Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution


Develop and manage project timelines, resource plans, budgets, and risk assessments.
Ensure timely delivery of all project phases; design, procurement, construction, and handover.


Site Supervision & Technical Oversight


Supervise construction sites and ensure adherence to technical specifications, architectural drawings, quality, and safety standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and resolve on-site issues promptly.


Budget & Cost Management


Prepare and manage project budgets and bills of quantities.
Oversee financial forecasting, cost control measures, and materials planning.


Stakeholder Coordination


Liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, and vendors.
Coordinate consultants and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals.


Quality & Compliance


Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.


Contract Administration


Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
Monitor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.


Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline (Master’s degree or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is an added advantage).
6+ years of hands-on experience in construction management with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership/management role.
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, site development, structural engineering, and MEP coordination.
Proficiency in interpreting architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
Skilled in MS Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Membership of professional bodies such as COREN, NIA, or NIQS is an advantage.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience working in Abuja or familiarity with the FCT construction environment is preferred.
