Internews Networks is seeking an HR and Administration Officer for an anticipated USAID-funded media project in Uganda. The HR and Administration Officer will support and advise the country program on the various HR processes and systems. Key responsibilities include providing support and guidance in establishing or improving processes for recruitment and selection, employee orientation and onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, and personnel recordkeeping. Additionally, this position will support a range of administrative functions, including procurement and event planning.

Assist in the development and review of Human Resource (HR) policies and procedures that comply with Internews standards and local labor laws.
Organize recruitment activities, including placing advertisements and arranging interviews.
Prepare and deliver orientation programs for newly hired staff.
Ensure all staff understand, sign, and adhere to Internews’ ethics policies.
Maintain electronic and hardcopy HR personnel file for all staff.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date tracking system for employee leave balances.
Maintain appropriate records while ensuring the confidentiality of personnel data activities.
Provide technical support to Country Director/COP in matters related to staffing, terminations, employee relations, grievance, and disciplinary actions.
Ensure timely completion and submission of monthly timesheets by staff.
Assists managers in setting goals and performance objectives to enhance staff motivation and provide performance feedback.
Alert the Finance and Administration Manager (FAM) at least three months before staff contracts end.
Communicate vacation accruals to the Country Director/Chief of Party (COP) and FAM.
