Overall purpose of the job:


Reporting to the Health Centre Manager, the incumbent will perform and oversee laboratory based scientific medical investigation in order to provide laboratory diagnosis


Key responsibilities:


Ensure quality results generation for tests
Supervision of staff within the laboratory unit
Ensure compliance to standard operating procedures in the laboratory unit
Registration, collection and processing of client samples within the limits of specific tests
Communication of laboratory results to the internal and external customers
Maintain high standards of quality laboratory practice by use of proper reagents well calibrated machines and clean working environment
Preparation of laboratory reports
Participation in internal quality control programmes


Position requirements:


A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science.
A Degree/Masters in Medical Laboratory Science is an added advantage.
At least two (2) years appropriate experiences in the management of laboratory staff and functions.
Must have a registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board.
