Job Description

A haulage driver is a skilled professional who operates commercial vehicles to transport goods from one location to another. Some job duties include:

Loading and unloading goods onto the vehicle using forklifts, cranes, or other equipment.
Operating vehicles such as articulated lorries, box trucks, and other similar vehicles in adherence to safety regulations.
Maneuvering large vehicles through different types of roads, traffic, and adverse weather conditions.
Inspecting vehicles for adherence to service schedules, maintenance requirements, and safety standards.
Planning and coordinating delivery routes to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Communicating with customers to determine delivery requirements and to provide updates on delivery progress.
Completing delivery paperwork such as delivery notes, manifests, and logs.

Requirements

Candidates should possess an FSLC qualification with 3 - 5 years work experience.
Haulage drivers must possess excellent driving skills, good communication skills, and be able to maintain a high level of concentration over long periods.
They should also have good map reading skills and be comfortable with using technology such as GPS systems and electronic logging devices.
Haulage drivers must be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy goods during loading and unloading tasks.
