Ojai, California
Ojai Music Academy is a vibrant, community-rooted music school co-founded by Julija Zonic and Smitty West, operating in the heart of Ojai. We serve approximately 200 students weekly across four active choirs — two girls choirs, a boys choir, and a seniors choir — alongside a busy private studio in voice and piano. All students participate in weekly music theory, making musicianship central to everything we do.
Our students have had the privilege of performing with Opera Santa Barbara, and we take pride in the quality and depth of musical education we offer this community. The Academy is supported by the Ojai Music Academy Foundation. We are now seeking a dedicated, versatile musician-educator to
join our small, collegial faculty.
Our school is nestled on a 5-acre permaculture farm, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Ojai Valley — a truly extraordinary setting in which to teach, create, and grow as a musician and educator.
