Job Description
• Develop, implement, and update comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs in line with health and safety laws and best practices. • Identify potential workplace hazards through site inspections and risk assessments, then recommend and implement strategies to control or eliminate these risks. • Monitor workplace conditions to ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and legislative requirements. • Plan and deliver safety training sessions for all employees, including new hires, on topics like emergency procedures, equipment use, and safe work practices. • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine their root causes and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence. • Actively promote a "safety-first" culture throughout the organization, encouraging employees to adopt safe practices and contribute to a safer environment. • Conduct regular safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing safety programs and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is a common requirement. • 2-3 years Proven experience as a Safety Officer in a similar industry, demonstrating practical knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment, is crucial. • In-depth understanding of relevant safety regulations, legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices is essential. • Good Communication Skills • Analytical & Problem-Solving • Attention to Detail • Leadership & Influence • Skills in managing crises and responding effectively to emergencies.
