FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMITTEE SHALL BE: 

To formulate policies for regulating the disbursement and management of bursaries, and scholarships; 
To advise the Executive Member on bursary disbursements, & scholarships 
To grant bursaries and scholarships 
Approve the list of beneficiaries to be granted bursaries and scholarships; elo receive any gifts, donations, grants or endowments made to the fund and to make legitimate disbursements there from; 
To determine the maximum amount to be awarded to the eligible student to be granted as bursaries, scholarships in a particular year, To receive and consider appeals for aggrieved applicant; and to perform any other functions for implementation of these regulations. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

A person is quaified for appointment as a Chairperson of the committee if that person is: 

A resident of Embu County 
Is a holder of at least a bachelor's degree from a University recognized in Kenya and with a working experience in either the education sector, administration or business of five year1s;
