Position Summary /Job Goal:
• The LCS Bus Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of LCS children to and from the school to their residences.
Performance Responsibilities:
• Drive the school bus safely, transporting children to and from the school to their residences in accordance with the bus schedule, and undertake additional school-related driving duties. • Responsible for ensuring the children's security and safety at all times. • Responsible for driving the vehicle in accordance with all road traffic regulations. • Responsible for ensuring that all faults on the vehicle are promptly reported. • Responsible for undertaking requisite vehicle inspections on a daily basis.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Secondary School leaving certificate or equivalent • Valid driver’s license (Minimum of C class)
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
• A minimum of 5 years’ professional driving experience for an organization. • A minimum of 3 years experience of driving a class C sized vehicle or larger. • A working knowledge of health and safety requirements as a bus driver. • Experience of providing customer service in any capacity. • A good command of the English language – reading, writing and communicating. • A working knowledge of road safety regulations concerning children. • Experience of dealing with customer complaints. • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work with parents, colleagues and all other school staff. • Demonstrable experience of adhering to guidelines and policies.
