I am pleased to endorse Lydia Ponce for numerous reasons; however, due to limited space, I will highlight only the most essential. Lydia is an exemplary figure in our community. As an Indigenous woman and a steadfast advocate for Native American rights, she has demonstrated a deep understanding of tribal culture, intertribal relations, and the lived experiences of California Indians and other Native communities across the country.

Lydia has consistently stood up against injustice wherever she sees it. Her advocacy is grounded in respect, truth, and cultural integrity. She shows up—not for recognition, but because she genuinely cares about protecting our people, our elders, our youth, and our histories. She carries herself with dignity, humility, and strength, and her actions reflect the values our communities hold sacred.

For these reasons and many more, I wholeheartedly endorse Lydia Ponce.
