Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities

The Graphics Designer will:


Timely development of concepts, graphics, and layouts by defining requirements, visualizing, and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos.
Conceptualize visuals based on programmatic and partner requirements.
Use appropriate colors, fonts, and layouts for each graphic.
Determine size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material, as well as font style and size.
Review final layouts and suggest improvements when required.
Amend designs following feedback from program teams and partners.
Ensure all graphics and layouts are visually appealing, accessible, and on-brand.
Liaise with external printers or production teams to ensure deadlines are met and outputs are delivered to the highest quality.
Keep up to date with emerging design and software trends to enhance FilmAid Kenya’s creative outputs.


Deliverables


Branded visual assets including posters, banners, flyers, brochures, infographics, and social media graphics.
Event branding and promotional materials for campaigns such as the FilmAid Film Festival (FAFF).
Print-ready and digital versions of reports, publications, and awareness materials.
Archived design files uploaded to the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system with proper metadata.


Duration & Location


Duration: 3 months (with possibility of extension based on performance and project needs).
Location: Nairobi with possible field travel to Dadaab and Kakuma. 6R


Reporting


The Graphics Designer will report to the Creative Manager and collaborate closely with program leads and field teams.


Qualifications & Experience


Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) or other professional design tools.
Demonstrated experience in designing across both digital and print platforms.
Strong portfolio showcasing creativity, branding, and visual storytelling.
Knowledge of motion graphics and video editing is an added advantage.’
Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt designs based on feedback.
