What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

As the Business Development Engineer, you will be developing sales opportunities for renewable energy solutions, focusing on medium to large Commercial and Industrial projects. You will work with internal teams and customers to create optimized technical solutions for renewable energy projects, from preliminary design to costing and proposal writing. You’ll assist in client contract negotiations, develop competitive strategies, and maintain a deep knowledge of competitor activity. Your role also includes building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers, ensuring sales sustainability, and providing input on the business plan to meet business targets.

What you’ll need

You will need a minimum of 5 years of technical sales experience in renewable energy or a related field. A solid technical understanding of solar PV, battery energy storage systems, diesel generators, and electrical reticulation is essential. You should have the ability to work effectively with customers and partners on technical solutions and coordinate among multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken, are crucial. A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering is required, and knowledge of project management and previous large-scale solar installation experience will be advantageous.
