Prepare and set up the lathe machine for operation, ensuring proper alignment and calibration of tools and workpieces.
Choose appropriate raw materials based on project specifications and ensure
they meet quality standards.
Reading Blueprints: Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering plans to accurately produce components.
Tool Selection: Select the right cutting tools, inserts, and attachments for specific jobs, considering material type and machining requirements.
Secure workpieces onto the lathe machine using clamps, bolts, or other appropriate fixtures to prevent movement during machining.
Operate both manual and CNC lathe machines to perform turning, facing, grooving, threading, and other machining operations according to project requirements.
Precision Machining: Achieve precise measurements and tolerances by adjusting machine settings, feeds, speeds, and tool offsets as necessary.
Regularly inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specified quality standards, adjusting the machine or process as needed.
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to tool wear, machine malfunctions, or quality deviations, and take corrective actions.
Perform routine maintenance on lathe machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
